Become a U101 Peer Leader
University 101 peer leaders are exceptional juniors or seniors who are chosen to serve
as a co-instructor in a University 101 class.
Application Timeline for New Fall 2026 Peer Leaders:
- September 15, 2025 - Application becomes available
- October 17, 2025 - Early Decision/Study Abroad Application Deadline
- November 3-7, 2025 - Early Decision/Study Abroad Interviews
- January 14, 2026 - Final Application Deadline
- February 2-6, 2026 - Regular Decision Interviews
Requirements:
- Junior or above standing during the semester they serve (by year, not by credits)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrate leadership skills and involvement in other substantive areas of university
life
A University 101 Peer Leader Is:
- An active and involved member of the Carolina community
- Confident in their ability to lead others
- Dedicated to helping others succeed
- Appropriately assertive
- Able to think on their feet
- Able to speak in front of a classroom of peers
- Comfortable leading difficult conversations
