There are three opportunities to connect with University Housing during Orientation. On Day One, we’ll be presenting key Move-In information during the opening session. On Day Two, visit our table at the Resource Fair, and families are encouraged to attend our Housing Session in the Russell House Theater. This session is packed with valuable information and includes a Q&A—don’t miss it!
Starting college on the right foot begins with building a strong connection with your roommate(s). These are the people you'll share meals with, unwind after long days, and cheer on the Gamecocks alongside—so fostering a positive relationship is key! Be sure to communicate early about shared items to avoid bringing duplicates and make move-in day smooth and stress-free.
If you plan to have a microwave or refrigerator in your residence hall room, you'll need to rent or purchase a MicroFridge—a combined microwave and refrigerator unit. Some residence halls provide a complimentary MicroFridge, while apartments come equipped with a refrigerator.
All residents must meet insurance requirements to live in University Housing. Learn more about the necessary Personal Property and Liability Insurance coverage. If you don’t have the required insurance, we’re here to help!
