Heidi obtained her bachelor's degree in international studies and French from Capital University and her master's in peace and conflict studies from UNC Greensboro. Heidi studied abroad for a summer in Tunisia as a Critical Language Scholarship recipient and in Belgium. Previously, Heidi worked in international education at UNC Greensboro, where she assisted faculty in developing and implementing short-term study abroad programs. While always involved with fellowships advising for the Gilman scholarship, she took on official oversight of UNCG’s fellowships and mentorship unit in July 2020. Since then, she has found joy guiding students through the fellowship application process.
 
Outside of the office, Heidi is an avid reader (Becky Chambers is her current favorite author) and trivia fan. She has dabbled in Bob Ross-style oil painting, and hopes to find a pottery class in Soda City so she can flood her cabinets with even more mugs. She is engaged and will be getting married in October 2022. Her two cats - Phantom and Schmendrick - are thrilled!
