My goal after graduation is to combine my love for numbers with my passion for sports and pursue a career in sports analytics. I love watching sports just as much as I love playing them, and I've been playing field hockey for the past 10 years. Outside of school, I love staying active, spending time by the pool or at the beach, and trying new restaurants!

Why I chose the South Carolina Honors College
The South Carolina Honors College was the place where I truly felt like collaboration was over competition. Every single person in the Honors College wants to see the person sitting next to them succeed just as much as they want themselves to. Coming from such a competitive high school environment, the Honors College felt like a breath of fresh air where I could feel supported in all my efforts to get involved and excel academically.
My advice for prospective students: Coming from someone who applied to 20 different schools all across the country, I truly believe the most important thing to remember during this process is that everything happens for a reason. Rejection is redirection and you will truly end up at the school you are meant to thrive at.
Favorite question during an information session: How did you deal with homesickness as an out-of-state student?
Homesickness is inevitable and going to hit you like a truck at the worst possible times. I really struggled with homesickness my first semester, but during my second semester I found ways to keep my mind busy to focus on all the good that I have in my life here. Coming from out-of-state, and knowing that I would not be able to just simply pack up and go home for a weekend easily, forced me to find ways to make time to connect with those at home while also enjoying my time here. I called my family and friends from home regularly and surrounded myself with people at USC that reminded me of those I love at home. Having a good support system of people around you makes you appreciate the people that you have in your life even more.
Favorite Honors class: My favorite Honors class was definitely the Science and Design of Coffee, which I took during my first semester at USC. I was genuinely interested in the course material, and I looked forward to learning something new about coffee in every class. I especially enjoyed learning about the different types of machinery used to make coffee, the scientific principles that influence its taste and even getting the opportunity to create my own "perfect" cup of coffee. It was such a fun and unique class that combined science, creativity and my deep love for coffee!.
