Research

Tyler is an instructor at the University of South Carolina with a background in neuroscience and physiology. He completed his graduate training at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where he investigated how modifiable risk factors contribute to age-related cognitive decline. His research utilized rodent models of working and spatial memory to examine how the central nervous system’s adrenergic system responds to chronic variable stress, integrating behavioral and biochemical techniques.

Currently, Tyler is developing electrophysiological methods using earthworm models to support independent student research projects. These projects introduce fundamental principles of neurophysiology while providing hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and scientific communication.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
