What courses are being offered to the public?
The College of Information and Communications will be offering three courses, AI Basics: Use AI in Everyday Life and Work, Small Business and Workplace Productivity.
Designed for beginners, this course focuses on practical, real‑world uses of artificial intelligence. Participants explore how AI tools can support writing, organization, problem‑solving, and productivity through guided, hands‑on activities. The course emphasizes effective prompting, everyday applications, and responsible use, helping learners feel confident experimenting with AI in their personal and professional lives—no technical background required.
This course introduces small business professionals to practical ways AI can support marketing, operations, and day‑to‑day productivity. Through guided, hands‑on activities, participants explore how tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot can assist with content creation, task management, customer engagement, and business planning. The focus is on efficiency, clarity, and confidence—helping businesses apply AI immediately without needing technical expertise.
Designed for professionals across roles, this course explores how AI tools can improve productivity in everyday work. Participants learn how to use AI for drafting and refining written content, summarizing documents and meetings, organizing information, and supporting more efficient workflows. The course emphasizes practical use cases and effective prompting to help learners work smarter without adding complexity.

Glen Caruso is a leader in next-generation technology with over 20 years of experience
at Microsoft, Oracle, and Adobe, where he helped global brands like Coca-Cola and
MetLife leverage AI to enhance operations and boost growth. As an instructor at the
University of Georgia’s Grady College, Glen spent nearly a decade teaching cutting-edge
courses on Generative AI and digital strategy, equipping students with job-ready skills
for an AI-driven world. Now, as President of The Digital Curators, Glen leads seminars
that simplify AI for universities, businesses, and communities. His workshops—featured
at institutions like the University of South Carolina—demystify AI, showing participants
how to use it to streamline tasks, boost productivity, and build competitive career
skills. Glen’s mission is to make AI practical and empowering, helping people harness
its potential to achieve more in work and life.
